Community Event, "Fire Ready Fest" Honors the Past, Prepares for the Future

On September 17, 1923, a fire ripped through Berkeley, consuming over 600 structures and devastating our community.

Over the past hundred years since this event, Berkeley Fire has come a long way. We are proud of the progress that has been made in our organization and in our community when it comes to fire prevention and community preparedness. This year, exactly 100 years after the fire, we will come together as a community to remember the past, and to help our community prepare for a fire safe future!

Mark your calendars and join us for our FREE community fire preparedness event and the centennial commemoration of the 1923 Berkeley Fire.

There is no registration required to attend. This is a free, accessible community event for all ages.

Fire Ready Fest, September 17 2023, 10 am - 2 pm, Live Oak Park
